Matteo Mizera began studying violin at the age of nine and switched to viola in 2005 under the tutelage of Luca Sanzò at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Mr. Mizerarecently graduated with his master’s degree in viola performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he studied with violist Rachel Roberts under full scholarship. He has collaborated and performed with leading musicians, soloists, and conductors such as Kurt Masur, Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Muti, and Sir Antonio Pappano. Mr. Mizera has played with renowned orchestras such as London Symphony Orchestra, LaVerdi Symphony Orchestra, Aurora Chamber Music Festival Orchestra, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, and Jugendorchesterwoche. He is member of the Caravaggio Piano Quartet who recently wonthe Premio A.Burri at the Festival delle Nazioni in Italy. Mr. Mizera is currently focused on chamber music playing at the courses in the “Accademia di Santa Cecilia” (Rome) and is also one of the young artists of the Accademia dei Cameristi where he performs alongside the violist and pedagogue Bruno Giuranna.
