The Rome Chamber Music Festival has been established to promote and advance the public’s perception and awareness of music in Rome and in the United States by organizing and promoting concerts and musical events and also by furthering the education and performing experience of promising young music students from both Europe and the United States. The primary focus of the organization’s current activities is a five day festival of concerts that occurs each year in June at the Oratorio Gonfalone in Rome. Outstanding musicians from the United States, Italy and elsewhere perform during the Festival and provide master classes to selected and highly promising students from the United States and Europe who are invited to study with these accomplished artists during the Festival and then to present their own concert during the Festival period. The Festival hopes to expand and broaden these educational activities for aspiring music students. The Rome Chamber Music Festival, which has a Board of Directors made up of both Italians and Americans, has established the Fondazione Rome Chamber Music Festival in Rome to assist it in operating the Festival. The Fondazione, which is also a non-profit entity, has, as its sole and founding member, the Rome Chamber Music Festival, Inc. The Fondazione, in conjunction with the Rome Chamber Music Festival, Inc. undertakes the activities in Rome necessary to present the Festival and also furthers the American-Italian partnership inherent to the Festival. |
